About Us.

We are a South Gloucestershire (UK) based group of friends from various walks of life, who have come together to worship Ma Durga. We believe that Ma Durga represents the purest form of divinity in the Hindu pantheon. As Adi Shakti or the Primordial Goddess, She controls all Maya i.e. She creates the universe, She sustains it and She destroys it when the time comes. We seek to worship Ma Durga for the greater good of all humanity and to celebrate the triumph of dharma over adharma or good over evil. As non-resident Indians, we also believe that auspicious occasions such as Durga Puja provide us with the opportunity to discuss and debate aspects of Indian culture, traditions and values, with our children so that they are mindful of their Indian roots while embracing the best of British values.
